Branching out for Buddhism

On Friday I will head back north to Berkeley for this program with Khandro Rinpoche. Looking forward to being back in the Bay Area for a few days, even though my housing search there has been inconclusive, and experiencing some fresh Buddhist teachings.

Plans are also suddenly on the horizon for a trip to Vancouver, British Columbia, in two weeks for this program with Thrangu Rinpoche, which I'd attend as a visitor and not neccesarily as a participant. It will be exciting to see a new city and area of Canada, especially where I may travel there by train.

After not having much Buddhism here on the West Coast this year, it's nice to have some programs suddenly arising.

General September plans are still in flux -- might remain here on the Central Coast, go elsewhere, or eastward. I'm hoping to reach a decision by next Thursday.

Good for a laugh

Phase 1

[]

You are listening to Stevie Wonder

(Your first day at work and all is fine and great)

Phase 2

[]

You are listening to HOUSE music

(After a while you are so busythat you are not sure if you coming or going anymore)

Phase 3

[]

You are listening to Metal

(This is what you feel like at month end)

Phase 4

[]

You are listening to Hip Hop

(You become bloated due to stress, feel sluggish and suffer from constipation)

Phase 5

[]

You are listening to GANGSTA RAP

(After more time passes, your eyes start to twitch, you forget what a "good hair day" feels like as you just fall outof bed and load up oncaffeine!!)

And Finally

Phase 6 kicks in

[]

You are listening to Techno(on Ecstasy)

The truth -(how all employees end up eventually....ha ha ha)

Saint Theresa's prayer

I think blog posting is just as effective as email chain letters.

Subject: You are 1 of my 11, don't open until you can respond

Look at the picture, read the prayer and then make a wish and read the prayer again.

Hi - I am picking 6
people who have touched my life and who I think would want to receive this. Please send it back to me (Y ou'll see why).

In case you are not aware, Saint Theresa is known as the Saint of the Little Ways, meaning she believed in doing the little things in life well and with great love..

May everyone who receives this message be blessed.

Theresa's Prayer cannot be deleted..

REMEMBER to make a wish before you read the prayer. That's all you have to do. There is nothing attached. Just share this with people and see what happens on the fourth day.

Sorry you have to forward the message, but try not to break this, please.

Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. Read the prayer below.

Saint Theresa's Prayer

May today there be peace within.

May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts t hat you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be confident knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.

It is there for each and every one of us.

Now, send this to 11 people within the next 5 minutes. And remember to send this back. I count as 1...you'll see why.
